Junkadelic was founded in 2002 as a junk percussion group, and quickly grew to become a stage-based funk band, adding a horn section in 2010. Today, Junkadelic Brass Band draws on strong connections to New Orleans street music culture, combining traditional second-line and funk grooves with latin and hip-hop flavours to get you down on the D-floor.
During their roving performances, the group transforms into a mobile carnival, weaving through crowds with a portable "junk" percussion kit and a powerful brass section. This New Orleans-inspired "second line" style brings a spontaneous, interactive energy to the streets, often featuring vibrant costumes and choreographed movement that invites the public to join the parade.
When they hit the main stage, the energy shifts into a full-scale funk explosion, anchored by the powerhouse vocals of Jenny Gee. Her soulful delivery elevates the band's original compositions, turning their signature "Junkadelic" sound into a polished, high-octane stage show that keeps the dance floor moving from start to finish.
